The Falls City Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight defeat. They lost to Weeping Water on the road by a decisive 48-29 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Falls City in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.
Weeping Water got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sayler Rhodes out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Rhodes pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Tejan, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Falls City has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Weeping Water, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Falls City's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Griffin on February 6th. As for Weeping Water, they will face off against the Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Elmwood-Murdock is ranked 146th, while the Indians are ranked 165th).
