Saucon Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Gall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Neveah Quinones also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Pen Argyl came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Rough Riders get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Knights, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Grace Weaver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Weaver was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Pen Argyl got a massive performance out of Jillian Bradley, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Angie Beltran, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Pen Argyl always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pen Argyl's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Saucon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Saucon Valley couldn't quite finish off Pen Argyl in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
