After a string of three wins, The Woodberry Forest Tigers''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Trinity Episcopal by a score of 33-30. Woodberry Forest has struggled against Trinity Episcopal recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Woodberry Forest's loss came despite strong showings from Savion Hiter and Dyzier Carter. Hiter gained 153 total yards and two touchdowns, while Carter picked up 11 receiving yards and a touchdown. Hiter was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards.
Leading Trinity Episcopal to victory were Davion "fatrat" Brown and Trey Grant. Brown rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while Grant rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Woodberry Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trinity Episcopal, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Woodberry Forest will be playing in front of their home fans against Fork Union Military Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Fork Union Military Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Woodberry Forest is ranked 32nd). As for Trinity Episcopal, they will take on Benedictine at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Benedictine is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
