Plattsmouth won the last time they faced Ralston and Levi Walker did his part to make sure it happened again. The Blue Devils walked away with a 49-36 win over the Rams on Friday for which the team can thank Walker, who rushed for 356 yards and five scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Plattsmouth's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Plattsmouth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nathan Frederick, Chance Jackson, and Traceson Skalberg picked up one apiece.
Ralston's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Broderyck Jenkins, who gained 202 total yards and a touchdown, and Cade Stix, who threw for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jenkins also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Landenn Jenkins, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Plattsmouth now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ralston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Looking ahead, Plattsmouth will head out to square off against Bennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 979 yards in their previous games. Ralston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
