Greater Dakota recap October 1, 2013
Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in Greater Dakota this week by beating Brookings, 28-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Washington lost to Brandon Valley 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Luke Reiter ran for 102 yards in the defeat.
Christian Boechler threw for 193 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 15-29 with 0 interception.
Caden Quintanilla provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Lincoln topped the Bobcats. Quintanilla's favorite target this week was Matt Wagner, who caught 2 passes for 30 yards.
Quintanilla was a force in the backfield as Aaron Beavers' team beat Brookings.
Quintanilla was the best running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 239 yards as the Patriots defeated Sturgis Brown. Teammate Dylan Bartow added to the ground attack by rushing for 19 yards.
On the heels of Connor Burchill and Quintanilla, Lincoln has had great success on offense. Burchill is tops in the league in passing with 740 yards, while Quintanilla has rushed for 854 yards this season. The Cobblers' Pikula leads the league in receiving yards with 266 on 25 catches.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Rapid City Central and O'Gorman. Trent Pikula's team comes into the matchup ranked 18th in the state, while the Knights ranks 17th.
Roosevelt led Greater Dakota in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Aberdeen Central.
