The Southwestern Warriors and the Elizabethtown Panthers will face off at 3:45 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Southwestern earned a 59-50 win over Conner. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southwestern.
Payton Acey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Molden, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Elizabethtown, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-31 loss to Butler on Friday. While losing is never fun, Elizabethtown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Butler is ranked ninth).
Southwestern has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Elizabethtown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
