Irving is 0-7 against Pearce since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Irving Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Pearce Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Irving is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Irving didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Berkner, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory.
Irving got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taliah Martin out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Arely Estrada was another key contributor, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists.
Meanwhile, Pearce waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Nimitz 51-37. That's two games straight that Pearce has won by exactly 14 points.
Irving's record now sits at 12-14. Pearce's record is now 14-12.
Irving suffered a grim 49-25 defeat to Pearce when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Irving avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
