The Ramsey Rams's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Mulberry Grove by a score of 67-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Mulberry Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Icenogle, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Icenogle's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carter Scoggins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Ramsey's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-15. As for Mulberry Grove, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramsey will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Clay/Clay City at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Mulberry Grove, they will be playing at home against Lincolnwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
