The Middle College Cougars won the last time they faced the Animo South Los Angeles Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Middle College really took it to the Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-29 win at home.
Middle College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ugonna Njoku led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Njoku has scored all season. Lebron Hasan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Middle College's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Animo South Los Angeles, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Middle College will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Adams has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Animo South Los Angeles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
