The Wekiva Mustangs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They managed a 34-30 victory over Ocoee. This was payback for Wekiva, who suffered a 33-28 loss the last time these two teams met.
Among those leading the charge was Tierra Coleman, who scored 12 points. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Pooler, who scored 9 points.
Wekiva has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-3 record. As for Ocoee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wekiva will take on Dr. Phillips at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ocoee, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against University at 7:30 p.m.
