7A District 9 recap September 24, 2013
Pierre Johnson of Pinellas Park ran for the longest rushing play in 7A District 9 this season against Seminole last week. Johnson's team beat the Warhawks as he sprinted for 89 yards on the play and finished with 157 in all.
Pinellas Park added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Seminole, 35-10. The win marks fourth in a row for the Kenneth Crawford's team.
Countryside's dynamic duo of Robby Hicks and Slyvester Kimbrough proved to be unstoppable against Northeast, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hicks threw for 142 yards and Kimbrough had 104 yards receiving. Eric Patten helped Countryside's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 56 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Hicks and Kimbrough proved tough for the Vikings to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Johnson was a passing and rushing force as the Patriots beat Chris Miller's team.
Johnson was the best running back in the league this week. Donte Maxson also contributed to the rushing game with 135 yards on the ground.
Kimbrough was the best receiver in 7A District 9 this week as Countryside defeated Northeast.
Hicks put up the best numbers in passing as Jared Davis' team defeated Michael Jalazo's team.
The Cougars' Hicks and Kimbrough have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hicks has thrown for 506 yards this season, while Kimbrough has 14 catches for 196 yards. Johnson from Pinellas Park leads the league in rushing with 404 yards.
The Vikings lost to Countryside 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
