Harrison has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Marietta Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Harrison is ranked 58th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 55th).
On Friday, Harrison came up short against the Hawks and fell 61-53. Harrison has not had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Marietta won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by North Paulding at home and fell 87-54. Marietta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Kyann Senior dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Senior has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Day, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Harrison has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Marietta, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.
Harrison beat the Blue Devils 61-53 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harrison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
