The Windermere Prep Lakers will head out on the road to face off against the Neumann Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Windermere Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Windermere Prep took a serious blow against Foundation Academy, falling 59-22. Windermere Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-6.
Although Windermere Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Braden Haas, Ben Heath, and Khamari James.
Neumann never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Southwest Florida Christian last Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 44-12 victory over the King's. The result was nothing new for Neumann, who have now won three games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Jake Bruni went supernova for Neumann, rushing for 76 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 140 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes. Bruni was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Decker Crosby, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Windermere Prep and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-3 Lake Highland Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.8% over those games). As for Neumann, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
