The Nicolet Knights won the last time they faced the Slinger Owls, and things went their way  on Friday too. Nicolet took down Slinger 70-53. Given Nicolet's advantage  in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings  (they are ranked 37th, while Slinger is ranked 182nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Nicolet's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Damon Landrum jr., who  scored 16 points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals. Another player making a difference was  Davion Hannah, who  scored 15 points along with nine  rebounds and three  steals.
 Nicolet is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Slinger, their defeat was  their third straight at home, which  bumped their record down to 5-6.
 Nicolet won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Lindblom at 2:00  p.m.  on January 6th. One thing working in Lindblom's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last 11 games. As for Slinger, they will head out on the road to face off against West Bend West at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
