Baseball Recap: Shead Drops Season-High Score on Narraguagus

Shead extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the Narraguagus Knights, falling 16-5. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Narraguagus, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

For Narraguagus' part, the team relied heavily on Brody Robertson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Robertson a new career-high. Uriah Merchant also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coming up, Shead will welcome Schenck at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Narraguagus, they will square off against Calais at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
