The Oakesdale Nighthawks will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Colton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Oakesdale posted their biggest win since January 6th on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tekoa-Rosalia 60-21 on the road. Given Oakesdale's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Tekoa-Rosalia is ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Colton over Dayton in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Colton blew Dayton out of the water with a 68-24 final score. Colton pushed the score to 53-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Dayton had no chance of recovering from.
Oakesdale pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.67 points. As for Colton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Oakesdale took their win against Colton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 60-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakesdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
