There's no place like home for Knippa, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Menard Yellowjackets  9-8. While the Crushers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Knippa let  Cameron S and  Jackson S run wild. Cameron  went 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases and two  RBI, while  Jackson  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Cameron is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Johnny R, who  scored a  run and  stole  Two bases. while going 2-for-5.
Knippa's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Menard,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
 Coming up, Knippa will look to defend their home field  on Friday against New Braunfels Christian Academy  at 2:45  p.m. New Braunfels Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so Knippa's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Menard, they will be taking part in a tournament against Leakey  at 10:00  a.m.  on Thursday.
