The Cumberland Pirates lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Despite the defeat, Cumberland saw an underclassman step up: Zack Harmon scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Cameron Roedl, who scored six points.
Cumberland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Sullivan, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland will challenge Unity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Unity Christian is coming into the matchup with six straight defeats at home, meaning Cumberland will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Sullivan, they will head out on the road to challenge Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sullivan surely won't give up without a fight.
