The Overton Eagles lost to the Loomis Wolves back in December of 2022, but the Overton Eagles didn't allow the Loomis Wolves the same satisfaction on Friday. Overton walked away with a 43-33 victory over Loomis. The team accrued 40 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Overton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Fleischman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Banzhaf, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Loomis still got an impressive performance from Cale Nelson, who scored 12 points. Ben Trompke was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Overton and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Loomis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overton will take on Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loomis, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 4:45 p.m.
