Walnut Springs has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Kopperl Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Walnut Springs came up short against Covington and fell 47-34. That's two games in a row now that Walnut Springs has lost by exactly 13 points.
Meanwhile, Kopperl's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 55-24 loss at the hands of Morgan. While losing is never fun, Kopperl can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1566th, while Morgan is ranked 772nd).
Walnut Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kopperl, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-11.
Walnut Springs beat Kopperl 59-47 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Walnut Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kopperl turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
