California City is 10-0 against Boron since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The California City Ravens will look to defend their home court against the Boron Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
California City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Kern Valley by a score of 54-41.
California City found their leader in underclassman Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brown pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ty'Ron 'Eraser' Jones was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 14 rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Boron had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They didn't even let Frazier Mountain onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Boron has scored all season.
California City pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Boron, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
California City strolled past Boron in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-36. Will California City repeat their success, or does Boron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
