Softball Recap: Celebration Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Celebration won against Poinciana last Thursday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Storm put the hurt on the Oasis Christian Lions with a sharp 18-7 victory. Considering the Storm have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brenna Neil was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Mariah Isabel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Celebration always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. They are 10-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Celebration, bringing their record up to 10-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Oasis Christian, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Celebration will head out to take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.7 runs per game on average), something the Storm will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oasis Christian, they will take on Kathleen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.38 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
