On Saturday, Saratoga was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-46 to San Luis Obispo. While losing is never fun, Saratoga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while San Luis Obispo is ranked 256th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Luis Obispo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Chaves, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was Chaves' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyrus Isaacs, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Saratoga's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for San Luis Obispo, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Saratoga is on the road again on Friday and play against Carmel at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for San Luis Obispo, they will face off against Thousand Oaks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thousand Oaks knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully San Luis Obispo likes a good challenge.
