The Sunnyside Wildcats will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Taft Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Taft took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunnyside, who comes in off a win.
Even though Garces Memorial scored an imposing 72 points on Thursday, Sunnyside still came out on top. Sunnyside sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 75-72 victory over Garces Memorial.
Malachi Barnes was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Wilson, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Taft unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torres.
Sunnyside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
