Park Crossing is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Brewbaker Tech a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Park Crossing Thunderbirds will be playing at home against the Brewbaker Tech Rams at 12:00 p.m. Park Crossing has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ariton hit Park Crossing with a six-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbirds lost 11-1 to the Purple Cats.
Alex Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Brewbaker Tech can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over LAMP. Considering the Rams have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cameron Gage was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Brewbaker Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Myles Bryant, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Brewbaker Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Park Crossing's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Brewbaker Tech, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Park Crossing has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brewbaker Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Park Crossing skirted past Brewbaker Tech 4-3 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
