The Saranac Lake Red Storm came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 50-43 win over Ticonderoga on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Saranac Lake also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saranac Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melvin Cirikovic, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Cirikovic scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Akey, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
The victory got Saranac Lake back to even at 7-7. As for Ticonderoga, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saranac Lake won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against AuSable Valley at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Saranac Lake is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. As for Ticonderoga, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Moriah at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Moriah's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
