Benilde-St. Margaret and Chaska are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Red Knights will welcome the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benilde-St. Margaret's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Benilde-St. Margaret's gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Orono by a score of 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Red Knights in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Mallory Held was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Kiya Rognrud was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Eve Breunig, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Benilde-St. Margaret's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orono only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Chaska got the win against Waconia on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-4.
Allana Benoit spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Chaska got a massive performance out of Ava Newman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Ivy Joecks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Benilde-St. Margaret's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Chaska, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
Benilde-St. Margaret's beat Chaska 8-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Red Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
