Hopefully Warren Central is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Columbus in Mississippi (Warren Central is ranked 13th, while Columbus is ranked 130th).
Last Friday, Warren Central beat Callaway 27-20. 27 seems to be a good number for Warren Central as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Among those leading the charge was Eric Collins Jr., who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Collins Jr. was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.
Meanwhile, Columbus' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 36-24 to Vicksburg.
Warren Central's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Warren Central took their win against Columbus when the teams last played back in November of 2014 by a conclusive 37-14. Will Warren Central repeat their success, or does Columbus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
