The Carver A&T Wildcats will face off against the Milford Mill Academy Millers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carver A&T has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Carver A&T is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Overlea 27-20 on Monday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.
Trevor Schnirel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Wehrheim, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Carver A&T: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise. Landen Gendimenico was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Carver A&T kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Milford Mill Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 19-1 to Chesapeake. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Millers couldn't push the score so high this time.
The victory made it two in a row for Carver A&T and bumps their season record up to 5-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.5 runs over those games. As for Milford Mill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
Carver A&T took their victory against Milford Mill Academy when the teams last played on April 3rd by a conclusive 18-4 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Millers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
