Brody McBroom made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples and four RBI. Those triples were his first of the season.
McBroom wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Romero, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Dylan Paulson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Castle View won against O'Connor on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Castle View walked away with a 4-1 victory over Willow Canyon. The win was familiar territory for the Sabercats, who have now won three contests in a row.
Like Golden, Castle View also got a great game from a two-way player: Keyan Lundvall. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Lundvall has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Tommy Feldhake was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Derek Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Golden's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Castle View, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Castle View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Golden has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. It's a different story for Castle View, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Golden's hitters?
