Everglades City were the 44-33 winner over the Babcock Trailblazers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Everglades City took a serious blow against Babcock on Friday, falling 67-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Everglades City has scored all season.
Leading Babcock to victory were Austin Drake and Jameson Habing. Drake scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Habing scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Drake scored 15 or more points. Rylen McKee was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Everglades City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Babcock, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everglades City will take on Mason Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Babcock, they will play host again and welcome Southwest Florida Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
