The Edinburg Bobcats can now show off 26 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Edinburg North 86-32 on the road. Edinburg is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 18 straight.
Edinburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Carranco, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. Carranco is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Fagan, who scored 30 points along with five rebounds.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roxanna Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with six assists and two steals. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Etsel Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Edinburg pushed their record up to 33-2 with that win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.8 points. As for Edinburg North, they now have a losing record at 16-17.
Edinburg will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1074th, while the Bobcats are ranked 78th). As for Edinburg North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Economedes has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
