He has become a key player for Lawrence County: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 4-7 otherwise. Dunaway was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Noah Brabham was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was LaFreddrick Harris, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Lawrence County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Raymond, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Raymond has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Lawrence County struggles in that department as they've averaged .483. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
