If the Austin Packers were riding high off their 81-56 takedown of the Albert Lea Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Austin was beaten by the Huskies 76-42 on Friday. Austin lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-59 score last time.
Owatonna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maryn Pool led the charge by scoring 23 points. Pool continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Fisher, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Owatonna, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Austin will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faribault has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Owatonna, they will head out on the road to square off against the Winhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
