Shakira Navarro was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and seven RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Valeria Rojas, who scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
North Dallas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .878. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Conrad on Tuesday.
Sabree Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mika Reagor, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Tasia Cherry, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. North Dallas pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything went North Dallas' way against Lincoln when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as North Dallas made off with a 27-9 win. Does North Dallas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincoln turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
