The Calvary Christian Spartans will be home for the holidays to greet the Dominion Academy Sabers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Saturday, Calvary Christian beat Milford Christian 47-40. The win was all the more spectacular given Calvary Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while Milford Christian is ranked 241st).
Wyatt Schlatter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 steals. He set a new season high mark in assists with six. Another player making a difference was Philip Davie, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Dominion Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to Varsity Opponent on Saturday. Dominion Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Elijah Heerdt put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. He scored a full 48.8% of Dominion Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luke Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Dominion Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Calvary Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dominion Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 38.8 rebounds per game.
