The Omaha North Vikings struggled with assists on Thursday (the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The contest between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Omaha North falling 51-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Omaha North had strong showings from Akazja Foster, who scored 13 points, and Ayanna Hill, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The game was Foster's third in a row with at least ten points.
Omaha North struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Kennadi Williams, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Lincoln Southwest. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Lincoln Southwest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Griffin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Omaha North's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Omaha North will take on Omaha South in a holiday battle at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at. Lincoln Southwest will be home for the holidays to greet Pius X at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pius X focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
