The American Eagles will face off against the Los Altos Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. American has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 278 points over their last four matchups.
Last Tuesday, American was fully in charge, breezing past Newark Memorial 71-42 at home. Given American's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Newark Memorial is ranked 1015th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiratraj Sanghera, who scored 23 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Sanghera has scored at least 25% of American's points. Another player making a difference was Arman Mahavni, who scored 16 points.
Los Altos has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat KIPP Esperanza 52-18 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-10.
Their wins bumped American to 4-0 and Newark Memorial to 1-4.
