4A Far West recap October 29, 2013
North Bend/Oregon Coast Tech added to the longest winning streak in 4A Far West this week by beating Siuslaw, 42-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
North Bend/Oregon Coast Tech made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,395 from 4,535. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-14 victory over the Vikings last week.
Douglas' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Shaffer has thrown for 1,762 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Brandon Stewart has 23 catches for 454 yards. Shaffer also leads the league in rushing with 947 yards.
Douglas's Shaffer is a mere 53 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 122 carries Shaffer has put up 947 yards this year.
South Umpqua led the league in scoring this week by notching 59 points on Brookings-Harbor.
