The Mercy Jaguars's 25-10 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Gibson on Saturday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Gibson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hallie Allen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Natalie Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Gibson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will take on Male at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Gibson, they will be playing at home against Peabody at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Peabody is ranked 70th, while South Gibson is ranked 93rd).
