The Las Animas Trojans won the last time they faced the Rocky Ford Meloneers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Las Animas managed a 54-50 win over Rocky Ford. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Las Animas.
Tj Ortiz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brander Nichols, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Las Animas now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Rocky Ford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Las Animas will head out on the road to take on Walsenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Ford, they will be playing at home against Hoehne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
