After two games on the road, First Baptist Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Northland Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
First Baptist Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-43 loss at the hands of Westbury Christian. First Baptist Christian has struggled against Westbury Christian recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Northland Christian had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 59-48 win over Faith West Academy on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northland Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andon "AJ" Newton, who scored 20 points along with nine steals and eight assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Newton has scored at least a third of Northland Christian's points. Gabriel McKnight was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
First Baptist Christian's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Northland Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.
First Baptist Christian couldn't quite finish off Northland Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 46-44. Can First Baptist Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
