Reading and Madeira are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Reading Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Reading will be strutting in after a victory while Madeira will be coming in after a loss.
Reading posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over Finneytown.
Meanwhile, Madeira pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Taylor 67-63. Madeira just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Will Manning put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carson Shafer, who scored 12 points.
The victory got Reading back to even at 6-6. As for Madeira, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-11.
Reading came out on top in a nail-biter against Madeira in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 48-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Madeira's Aj Rockwell, who scored 14 points.
