The Washingtonville Wizards were the 61-52 winner over the Monticello Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Washingtonville fell 66-57 to the Panthers on Monday. Washingtonville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Washingtonville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zion Lynch. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Sullivan, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Washingtonville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Monticello, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Washingtonville will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
