Norco (Calif.) would need to defeat Pacifica 4-0 in the championship game of the Mohave Tournament on Saturday in Bullhead City.
Norco scored all of its runs in the fifth inning with two outs and were actually outhit by the Mariners, who had six hits off of Norco starter
Emily Lockman.
Norco entered the tournament unranked in the Southern Section preseason polls and then proceeded to knock of defending tournament champion Valencia in the second round. Norco also edged Chino Hills 3-1 in the semifinals while Pacifica topped Saugus 3-2 in the other semifinal.
Norco is 5-0 on the season with all five wins coming at the tournament.
