WARNER ROBINS, Ga. - After three lead changes,
Houston County (Warner Robins, Ga.) took the lead for good when
Josh Flowers ran for a touchdown with 11:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Warner Robins (Ga.) 27-23 on Saturday.
The Bears led 21-14 at halftime, but the Demons regained the lead on a field goal by
Matt Monday with 2:00 remaining in the third.
By the end of the third, Houston County found itself trailing by two points as Warner Robins captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. WR scored on a rushing touchdown and a field goal by Monday in the quarter.
Houston County's defense helped with six points of its own during the win.
The Bears avenged last year's 49-34 loss to the Demons with the victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for Houston County, which lost to Lakeside last week, 21-20. The loss comes after Warner Robins defeated Greenbrier 48-7 last week. The victory ended Houston County's two-game losing streak.
In a AAAAA Region 2 game next week Houston County (4-3) takes on Evans, and Warner Robins (6-1) will go up against Grovetown also in a AAAAA Region 2 game.
