Baseball Recap: Perry Find Success

Perry hadn't done well against Letchworth recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Legends by a score of 13-9. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 victory the Legends walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Perry let Maximus Siewert and Izaiah Hernandez run wild. Siewert got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Hernandez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Siewert has become a key player for Perry: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Beau Solcum was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The win got Perry back to even at 7-7. As for Letchworth, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will welcome Pavilion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Gophers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Letchworth, they will be playing at home against Oakfield-Alabama at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Legends' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
