The Canyon Springs Pioneers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 40-14 margin over Chaparral. The result was nothing new for Canyon Springs, who have now won six games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Leading Canyon Springs to victory were Tysean Mccraney and Eric Mosley- wedermyer. Mccraney threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, while Mosley- wedermyer gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns.
The victory (which was Canyon Springs' third in a row) raised their record to 9-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.33 points. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Canyon Springs will square off against Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Sunrise Mountain has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
