The Washingtonville Wizards will face off against the Valley Central Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Washingtonville will be strutting in after a victory while Valley Central will be coming in after a loss.
Washingtonville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Monticello a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Wizards haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Connor Beyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washingtonville is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Beyer was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Washingtonville got a massive performance out of Bryce Tesseyman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Tesseyman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben O'Keefe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
Washingtonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .725. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Valley Central lost 17-7 to Wallkill on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Nicholas Strobach and Darren Russo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Strobach went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double, while Russo went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Strobach's first of the season.
Washingtonville's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Valley Central, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Valley Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Washingtonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Valley Central, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Washingtonville's hitters?
