Resurrection has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bandits will welcome the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Resurrection will be strutting in after a victory while Northside will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Resurrection turned things around against Regina Dominican on Thursday. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Bandits' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.
Grace Samatas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gianna Greco, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Olivia Magruder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Resurrection kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Regina Dominican only managed five.
Northside couldn't beat Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Mustangs came up short against the Hawks, falling 15-8. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eliza Patras led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Syslo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Resurrection's victory bumped their record up to 7-21-1. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Resurrection hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Resurrection got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Northside by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Bandits repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
